CDN, everyone loves it; Free CDN, everyone likes it more! But this egg hurts the same thing as the CN domain name: beautiful and helpless! Recently, I have posted a few blog posts about "free CDN", which has attracted a lot of comments and attention, and even added me QQ to "talk in detail", and at the same time, I also got some thoughts and ideas from the mouths of children's shoes, here is a summary and talk about my views: First of all, free CDNs with small traffic and small applications are the general trend, because with the development of the Internet and the advancement of technology, the cost of this aspect is getting smaller and smaller. In other words, companies that open free CDNs do not necessarily have to rely on CDN fees to survive, and there are more and more ways to survive! Secondly, as far as the "practice" of the Internet "in the town" is concerned, the tightening of the policy is irreversible and will only become tighter, after all, from ancient times to the present, our leaders have always thought of "blocking" rather than "loosening". In such a situation, domestic Internet companies want to live happily, as before "loose and lazy" may not be possible, some new ideas, new services are the way to survive, free CDN is one aspect, now many domestic Internet companies have begun to cooperate with their related products to launch free CDN services. In addition, there are more and more webmasters who go abroad to "find a way out", but no matter how close the United States is, it is farther than Telecom to China Unicom! Therefore, it has become an urgent need to find a free CDN that can be used stably to accelerate the site, of course, there are also basic requirements for this kind of CDN that "accelerates foreign sites": 1. There must be nodes around the mainland, at least on the west coast, otherwise it is better not to use them. 2. The technology must be reliable, and it cannot be down every day or stuck every month. 3. The company must have a certain economic strength, CDN itself is a money-burning thing, without certain strength, it is destined to not be able to reassure the webmasters. 4. The traffic and bandwidth should not be too small, which means that the "free package" cannot be too stingy, because the current webmaster is too smart and capable, last month is still a small station, and the traffic may be very large next month. The above three points are a summary of my need for "free CDN", but the "summary" is easy, and it is too easy to find a service that meets these conditions: although there are many companies that provide such services today, I am afraid that there are few that really reassure webmasters. Just like the "IDC for All" campaign on Hostloc, OneMan has started a CDN, and he may close its doors before you have a few days! After much effort to find them, I finally decided on a few: 1. WebLuker: A free CDN service provider in China (North Shore required), the owner is the famous ChinaCache, this company is not short of money, and there are many nodes across the country, but the services provided are fast and slow. I used it for a while, because Wordpress itself is dynamic, even if it is not much faster than my own access to the origin site, so I accelerated static content such as CSS, JS, and images separately, but it seems that the effect is average, and the ping value is quite good (Webkaka test Ping value is within 50ms all over the country), but the bandwidth given is not strong, and finally I chose to give up. 2. CloudFlare: A company in the United States, no one knows what the economic strength of this company is (the State Administration for Industry and Commerce can't control it, can't check the business license), but the technical strength is obvious to all, its background free service projects account for more than 80%, and its nodes are distributed in Europe, America and Asia, the closest to us are Tokyo and Hong Kong. However, due to the route adjustment of domestic telecom and China Unicom and the adjustment of Cloudflare's own route, the routes taken by visitors from Asia (mainland) are also often changed (rotating between the three nodes of San Jose, Tokyo, and Hong Kong on the west coast). 3. There are also some service providers that run their own CDNs, and if you want to use their free services, you must first purchase their space products. For example, "crooked cool people", but due to the problems of the service provider's own technology, capital, and scale, the scale of this type of CDN is not large, and there are very few nodes. In the end, the current free CDN service solution is not very mature, this is not about technology, but about the design of the marketing plan, either the bandwidth is small, or there are few nodes, so these merchants, who to choose or not to choose, have to rely on the children's shoes to decide, I do not recommend any, nor deny any, because being able to provide free CDN itself is a "special case", worthy of the respect and respect of us small webmasters!
