Abstract Switching power supply is a power electronic device used in a wide range of fields. It has the advantages of high power conversion efficiency, small size, light weight, high control accuracy and good speed, which basically replaces linear power supplies in the small power range, and quickly wants to advance in the high power range, replacing thyristor phased rectifier power supplies to a large extent. It can be said that switching power supply technology is the mainstream technology of small and medium-power DC power conversion devices. This paper first describes the development of switching power supply, summarizes and analyzes and compares several typical switching power supply technologies that have appeared at present, and points out the development status of switching power supply technology and the development trend of switching power supply products. And the development history, application scope, selection of main circuit and control method of switching power supply are briefly introduced. In the design, pulse width modulation (PWM), full-bridge rectification, self-locking protection and other technologies are mainly adopted, and the control chip UC3842 is applied as the PWM control chip, and the stacked winding method is used for the transformer secondary coil to improve the selection of optocoupler feedback circuit, so that the circuit can meet the required basic requirements at the same time, and strive for stability and efficiency.
