Hard Drive Verifier is a portable utility used to test to identify bad sectors of a hard drive. This tool provides detailed information about the bad sectors so that you can try to fix them. Your hard drive writes data in blocks (sectors), and every time the hard drive updates the sector, it will also store the checksum as soon as the sector data is updated. When reading sectors from a hard drive, the sector checksum should match the sector data. If the checksum does not match, the hard drive is identified as having a problem during a write operation – the event is called a bad sector. There are many reasons why bad sectors can occur during write operations or hard drive failures, such as power failures, etc.
The hard drive validator gives you a way to see if there are bad sectors, so you can clear the so-called bad sectors by overwriting it.
If there are bad sectors due to power failure, the Read + Wipe Corruption + Read test will be the fastest way to get rid of the bad sectors.
If the sector is bad because of a problem with the drive, you should select the Write + Validate test after backing up your data. Note that this test will erase all data on the disk, please use it with caution.
All tests are logged and you can copy them for future use.
The Hard Drive Verifier offers the following four types of tests:
– Read: The entire hard drive surface will be scanned for bad sectors.
– Read + Wipe Corruption + Read: The entire hard drive surface will be scanned for bad sectors, if bad sectors are found, they will be overwritten, and read again to ensure the write is successful.
– Read + Write + Verify + Recover: The program will write a test pattern to the disk, verify that the pattern has been successfully written, and then restore the original data.
– Write + Validate: The program will write a test pattern to disk and verify that the pattern has been successfully written (use with caution, the original data will be lost). Download Address:
