Before installing Windows Technical Preview, be sure to check the system requirements and other important information. If you're ready, follow the steps below to download a special file called ISO that you can use to install the preview:
Click one of the Download links on this page.
Once the download is complete, transfer the ISO file to installation media such as a DVD or USB flash drive.
Double-click setup.exe on the installation media and follow the steps. Important Note The easiest way to convert an ISO file to a DVD is to use a Windows disk image burner.
If you want to stop using Windows Technical Preview and reuse a previous version of Windows, you need to reinstall the previous version from the recovery media or installation media (usually a DVD) that came with your computer. If you do not have recovery media, you can create recovery media from the computer's recovery partition using software provided by the computer manufacturer. You will need to perform this step before upgrading. Check the support section of your computer manufacturer's website for details.
After installing Windows Technical Preview, it will not be possible to restore to a previous version of Windows by using the recovery partition on your computer.
