Before installing Windows Technical Preview, be sure to review the system requirements and other important information. If you're ready, follow the steps below to download a special file called ISO that you can use to install the preview:
Click on one of the "Download" links on this page.
Once downloaded, transfer the ISO file to an installation medium such as a DVD or USB flash drive.
Double-click setup.exe on the mounting media and follow the steps.
Important The easiest way to convert an ISO file to a DVD is to use a Windows Disk Image Burner.
If you want to stop using Windows Technical Preview and reuse a previous version of Windows, you need to reinstall the previous version from the recovery media or installation media that came with your PC, usually a DVD. If you don't have recovery media, you can use software from your PC manufacturer to create recovery media from your PC's recovery partition. You need to perform this step before upgrading. Check the support section of your PC manufacturer's website for more information.
After installing Windows Technical Preview, you won't be able to restore to a previous version of Windows by using the recovery partition on your PC.
