Android Debug Bridge (adb), bir emülatör örneği veya bağlı bir Android cihazıyla iletişim kurmanıza olanak tanıyan evrensel bir komut satırı aracıdır. Uygulama kurulumu ve hata ayıklama gibi çeşitli cihaz işlemlerini kolaylaştırır ve Unix kabuğuna erişim sağlar; bu kabuk emülatörlerde veya bağlı cihazlarda çeşitli komutları çalıştırmak için kullanılabilir. Araç istemci-sunucu programı olarak çalışır ve üç bileşen içerir:
istemci olarak bileşen komutlar gönderir. İstemci geliştirme makinesinde çalışıyor. Komut satırı terminalinden istemciyi çağırarak bir adb komutu verebilirsiniz.
Cihazda komutları çalıştıran bir arka plan programı. Arka plan programı, her emölatör veya cihaz örneğinde arka plan süreci olarak çalışır.
Sunucu, istemci ile arka plan programı arasındaki iletişimi yönetir. Sunucu, geliştirme makinesinde arka plan süreci olarak çalışır.
