"Flower Spectrum" was painted by Japanese Edo period painter Aya Sakurai. The whole set consists of six volumes, divided into: flower score, continuation of flower score, continuation of flower score, continuation of flower score, flower score addition, cherry blossom poem. It depicts 252 cherry blossom pictures with titles next to them (e.g., small cherry blossoms, cold scarlet cherry blossoms, heterogeneous higan, yae higan, jade plate cherry blossoms, jade hall cherry blossoms, Raifukuji car return, Luo cherry blossoms, etc.). This set of paintings was compiled by Nagaaki Ichihashi and others in 1803-1804.
The original species of cherry blossoms originated in the Himalayas, and according to literature, cherry blossoms were cultivated in Chinese palaces during the Han and Tang dynasties. Later, he was brought back to Dongying with Sino-Japanese exchanges. Because Japanese cherry blossoms are so famous that they have bred the best varieties in the world, cherry blossoms refer to Japanese cherry blossoms to a certain extent, or cherry blossom varieties with Japanese characteristics. There are hundreds of varieties of cherry blossoms in Japan, generally divided into Somei Yoshino (light red and white), mountain cherry blossoms (light red and white), Oshima cherry blossoms (white), Edo Higan cherry blossoms (white or reddish-purple), weeping cherry blossoms (red), etc. Affected by the temperature, cherry blossoms open sequentially along the latitude from the southern tip of the warm Japanese archipelago to the north, forming a "cherry blossom front" that advances from south to north. In Japan, cherry blossoms are considered auspicious. Japan is also known as the "Land of Cherry Blossoms".
