[Web] MP4 cannot be played on IIS application server

Today, colleagues from other departments asked about the xx forum that could not be opened, and I checked the reason why the two websites of the department were upgraded a few years ago, but this forum was not migrated. The server was also replaced. I thought it was very simple, so I copied the previous folders directly to the corresponding root directory of the new application server, thinking that everything was fine, checked carefully, sent a video that could not be opened, and started to look for the reason, it turned out that it used to be under the linux system, the application server was apache+resin, and now it is under win2000, the application server is IIS, and you need to configure IIS. The specific reason is that this is actually a kind of protection for files by IIS, and files that are not in the MIME type specified by IIS will obviously not be operated.

Common files with extensions such as mp4 / flv / iso / 7z / apk are not specified in IIS, and such files cannot be downloaded by default in IIS.

We can open IIS on the xx local server and right-click on -> Properties and then see the MIME format that is already in MIME Type

For example, we need IIS to support MP4 file download, we can set it like this: (Here we set the global setting of IIS, if it is only for a certain site, we can directly set the site)

1. Right-click on the website and select Properties

2. Select the HTTP header on the Website Properties that opens, and then click the MIME type button

3. Click New in the open window

4. On the pop-up MIME type box extensionMP4MIME types are:application/octet-stream

This way IIS can support MP4 downloading.
